I bombed. A lot. Then something weird happened around day five.
I told myself I'd learn flip resets in Sideswipe or die trying. Here's what my week looked like.
Day 1: I did not get a single one. Not one. I did get an accidental double-flip into my own net which sent me from Champ 1 to Diamond III in about 40 minutes.
Day 2: Watched Squishy's mobile tutorial (yes I know it's for main-game but the timing is close). Practiced against a bot for an hour. Got exactly one. Screamed so loud my dog got up and left the room.
Day 3-4: Started noticing the wall bounce more than the reset itself. That was the unlock. I was so focused on the ceiling touch I wasn't setting myself up properly. Once I fixed the approach angle everything else got easier.
Day 5: Hit two in a real ranked match. Missed both shots. But I hit them. That's the win.
The lesson isn't the mechanic — it's that mechanics take longer than YouTube tells you they do. If you're on day two and frustrated, that's just what day two feels like.
