The Worst Controller I Ever Bought (a Cautionary Tale)

I will not name the brand but I will describe it in enough detail that you'll know it when you see it.

It was on sale. That's how it always starts. $14.99, four stars, over a thousand reviews. I thought I was outsmarting the market. I was not.

The right trigger was analog. The left trigger was a button pretending to be analog. I did not realize this until I tried to boost-brake for the first time and my car just went full speed until I let go entirely.

The Bluetooth latency was measurable in eras. I could press A, put the phone down, make a sandwich, and my car would jump on the way back.

The best part was the manual, which was one folded sheet of paper. The 'quick start' section was three lines long and one of them was in a language I could not identify.

I sent it back. I still think about it. If a controller has no reviewable brand name and it's under $20, close the tab. Save yourself.
